Cassie

Sid: How do you do it?
Cassie: What?
Sid: Come on, Cass. I mean you never eat anything. Your parents must notice or something. I dunno.
Cassie: I like you, Sid.
Sid: ...Okay.
Cassie: So, I'm going to show you.
[begins cutting up food]
Cassie: You have to do a lot of talking. I'm good at talking. You do that while you're cutting things up, a lot. And then, questions.
[lifts fork to her mouth, stops]
Cassie: Where's your student card?
Sid: Sorry?
Cassie: Your ID.
[resumes cutting up food]
Cassie: Have you got it?
Sid: No. I, uh, lost it somewhere, last week.
Cassie: Change the subject. This is great. I love these sausages. You should try one. Go on.
[puts a sausage on Sid's plate]
Cassie: Delicious.
Sid: Hang on, you didn't...
Cassie: You're not quite sure what I'm on about, but I keep distracting you. So, then, I up the ante.
[picks up Sid's plate of fries]
Cassie: Yum, I love this stuff.
[pushes a few fries onto her plate]
Cassie: Really delicious. You're really sure that I want some more, so I'll keep waving at you, until you stop looking at me.
[raises fork to mouth, stops]
Cassie: Where'd you lose it?
Sid: Sorry?
Cassie: Your ID. I mean, they won't let you use the library, will they?
[checks watch]
Cassie: God, I've got to go.
[starts clearing her plate, onto another one]
Cassie: So full. Gotta dash.
[gets up to leave]

Like a French movie

Mr Nobody: I've got nothing to say to you. I'm Mr. Nobody, a man who doesn't exist.
Jt: Do you remember what the world was like before telemerization? Quasi-immortality? What was it like when humans were mortals?
Mr Nobody: There were cars that polluted. We smoked cigarettes. We ate meat. We did everything we can't do in this dump and it was wonderful! Most of the time nothing happened... like a French movie.
Jt: And, um, sexually? Before sex became obsolete.
Mr Nobody: Ha, ha! We screwed! Everybody was always screwing. We fell in love... we fell in love

Prenzlauerberg. Berlin meine Lieb (II)

So today I'm talking about Prenzlauerberg, the most artsy and bohemian area in Berlin.
When I visited the city I stayed at a campus in Prenzlauerberg and I honestly think that it couldn't have been better located. It is just 10 minutes by underground from Alexanderplatz, the main square in town, and it's got plenty of places to see and things to do.
Prenzlauerberg is famous for its bars, pubs and cafes. It's a popular area for nightlife, but it's interesting by day as well. It's full of vintage shops where you can find from secondhand records and books, to clothes and accessories from the past decades.
It is a place where young artists meet and work, full of life and history.
There's a huge park where bohemians play music by night and young people meet to party, that's Mauerpark. It is called like that because inside it we c
an find a piece of the famous Berlin Wall, all decorated with graffiti and paintings. If you visit Berlin, don't miss it!

Hackeschermarkt. Berlin meine Lieb (I)

Last summer I was in Berlin, I could say those were two of the best weeks in my whole life. I met great people, I improved my German and of course I got to know the city, which I found incredible. It's such a cosmopolitan place full of art and culture and amazing places.
One of the places I visited and liked the most was Hackeschermarkt. It was the old jew neighbourhood, so before the war it used to be an area full of industry and money. Some of the historical buildings are still there and have been improved, in fact one of
them is now a famous place for shopping and restaurants. It used to be a factory of textile goods before the war, and it still keeps its colorful decorations.
Hackeschermarkt has recently become one of the It areas in Berlin, it's full of designer shops and trendy restaurants and cafes where you can find international and exotic food and drinks.

By night it's a well-known place for going out too, there is plenty of bars and pubs around. A funny fact about the area is that when shops close, the streets suddenly become full of prostitutes and girls of the night.
I highly recomend visiting Hackeschermarkt either by day or by night, it's my personal number one choice for going out in Berlin.

Here's a view of one of the famous buildings of Hackeschermarkt, it is fu
ll of shops and cafes such as Starbucks Coffee.

A full view of beautiful Hackeschermarkt with the famous TV Tower of Alexanderplatz in the background.

The photo above shows the old textile factory from the inside, nowadays there are several restaurants and a cinema inside it.
